Paid another visit to the vibrant island of Penang on 24th June , mainly to attend the hotlink beach party at feringghi ( visit www.klubbers.net for event pics ).
Penang always gives me the feeling that this place is what this country should be ( minus the traffic jams please) , charming and inviting . . .

D1 drift event - 1 July 2006 - Shah Alam , Selangor , Malaysia

Spectacular drifting event with the highlight on the guest drift legend - Tsuchiya-san.
As much as i love motor racing, honestly speaking drifting is a chapter of it which i'm rather nonchalant about.
Anyhow, it's a great event filled with spectating hype and well recommended if it happens to come to town again.
Arrived late evening just before the sun went down, well..just to beat the scorching sun on an otherwise lazy saturday afternoon for myself.
When night fell, found a 'golden' spot on the inside of turn 1, where there was a spot on white lighting on the tarmac just shining at the apex, great for shots as the cars were lit as they fall into this spot, and as their noses start to point towards my camera's angle,where i was happily standing albeit illegally until a friendly marshal came and shoo-ed me off . By then i was almost done for the night, so strolled away and just took some more shots at the starting line where there were dramas unfolding by itself ...hmm...

Who saids it's a conference for geeks ?

Alright, with my chalkful of geekiness colleagues, we went to MEDC 2006 held at Sunway Convention Centre. For the geekiness impaired, M-E-D-C stands for Microsoft Embedded Developers Conference... well, this is the malaysian leg of it.
So, to justify the not-so-geeky side of things, here's what it looks like apart from the geeknote(keynote) speaks, geek huddle during breaks, geeko-hands-on-lab activities, having lunches the geeky way, geeky sms quizes, geeky free gifts ( backpacks branded with emm-ee-dee-cee , how cool is that ? totally. )
What ? huh ? ooh lala ?
Perhaps there will be more ... watch this post
